• PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

Understanding the business aspects of Freight Forwarding and to describe the various the activities of a Forwarding company, along with approaching knowledge about Sea Transport, Air Transport under IATA standards and regulations, and Multimodal Transport;

Describing the role of the forwarder in Logistics activities and define Logistics systems as well as the main steps in a Logistics project; Getting acquainted with terms related to the supply chain management and all warehouse aspects in detailed operational functions;

Gaining knowledge about customs procedures, customs tariff, goods classification as well as international conventions, customs objects and appeals via the practice of a preparation of customs declaration for shipments in Vietnam;

Gaining an overall understanding about information technology application and operating system as well as the difference between types of information processes in the business environment in Logistics;

Approaching the FIATA Minimum Standards to obtain the FIATA Diploma in Freight Forwarding which are used to benchmark the training programmes validated by ABVT – Advisory Body Vocational Training of FIATA.

All topics comprise with a mix of trainer’s sharing, case-studies, exercises and structured discussions.

Participants are provided theoretical knowledge, practical experience and case study analysis in every single session.

In each module, participants will complete projects & give presentation in front of class, thus gain diverse experience & understanding of company structure;

Module 1: Freight Logistics Operations

Learning Outcomes:

– Understand the importance roles of Logistics both in and outside the firms and in a supply chain, also the relationship with other important functions areas;

– Discuss various and different categories of Logistics Services Provider, and appreciate the roles of outsourcing in supply chain, also identify relationship challenges in managing process;

– Provide theoretical knowledge and practical experiences in the process of origin and destination services with in-depth discussion on the concept of Consolidation, Documents handling and Cross-docking;

– Understand Import-Export process under 2 main packages: Incoterms-International Trade Contract-L/C and Customs Procedure/Clearance;

– Provide risk analyses and management in each activity to optimize Customs clearance process and also approach the international compliance factors in each step of Import-Export procedure;

– Understand the importance role of Contract Logistics and Warehousing in Logistics system and identify the types warehousing facilities that exist;

– Examine factors relating to warehouse operations under focusing on warehouse design, labor in warehouse and components of cost in warehousing.

– Acknowledging about the organizing process of inland waterway and related needed documents as well as the most common barges with their particularities, and finally the most important navigable waterways;
